The Word of Faith Brings Salvation

Air Date: 1/17/18

Romans 10:14-17 (NKJV)

14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:

“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,[h]
Who bring glad tidings of good things!”[i]

16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”[j] 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Teaching Points:

Process (vv. 14-15): It’s a process! We have to realize we’re SENT so that we’ll go PREACH the Gospel, so they can HEAR and BELIEVE.  Their salvation is directly related to our obedience to go and share the Good News.

Beautiful feet (v. 15): This is a beautiful process!  You may be nervous or scared or anxious, but God says you’re beautiful when you go.

Not all will believe (v. 16): Some will believe the good new and some won’t. Our command is jut to go share it regardless.

Hearing (v. 17): Faith comes from hearing.  They must hear in order to believe by faith.

Humility: Consider Others

Air Date: 1/24/18

Phil 2:3-5

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

Teaching Points:

Selfishness (v.3a): As we go out to share the Gospel, it cannot be about US, “winning notches in our belt” or even our fear.

Consider other (v.3b): We must consider others more important.  This overcomes our fear or our pride.

Interest of others (v.4): Put yourself in “their shoes”.

Attitude of Christ (v.5): Some translations say, “this mind… which is your in Christ Jesus”
